Designing with AXI Chip2Chip IP


This Practical Educational Package goes through the details of using AMD AXI Chip2Chip IP to communicate between two FPGAs over Copper or Fiber Optics cables. AMD Aurora IP is used along with AXI Chip2Chip to make the communication between FPGAs possible.


The package provides several design examples showing how the AXI Chip2Chip IP can be used in the FPGA designs. All design examples can be directly run on ZCU102 and ZCU106 AMD FPGA evaluation kits. Descriptive videos go through the details of how the FPGA design is done and also how the Fiber optics cables and Copper cables shall be used for connecting the boards.


The package mainly targets Xilinx ZYNQ and ZYNQ Ultrascale+ devices. It however can be used for any AMD FPGA device which has high-speed serial interfaces such as GTH, GTY or GTMs.
